New Destiny Family Success Center continues to strengthen families by connecting residents and community members with vital supports beyond the center’s walls. During May, in partnership with Malichi Mission, The Heritage at Alexander Hamilton Housing Development continued its commitment to addressing food insecurity by providing food assistance to more than 35 families each week. As grocery costs continue to rise, the food distribution program has become an important source of relief for many households. Through this partnership, families were able to access nutritious food while reducing some of the financial pressure associated with meeting their basic household needs. The impact of this program is best reflected in the voices of the residents served.
One resident shared:
“The programs and services have helped our community tremendously, especially here at Alexander Hamilton. I am very grateful because Daira is always attentive to the needs of each resident and is always kind and willing to help. My family and I have lived here for more than eight years, and throughout that time, she has continued to serve our community with dedication and compassion. Thank you.”
Another resident shared that the food distributions have helped stretch their SNAP benefits during a time when food prices have become increasingly expensive. The resident explained that the support helped ensure there was food on the table through the end of the month when benefits alone were not enough.
This ongoing initiative demonstrates the power of community partnerships and the positive difference that accessible food resources can make in the lives of local families. By working together with Malichi Mission, New Destiny Family Success Center continues to strengthen food security, reduce financial stress, and improve the quality of life for residents at The Heritage at Alexander Hamilton Housing Development.
