The journey to success begins with faith, resilience, and perseverance. In April 2024. Ms. M. relocated back to her humble beginnings in Paterson with her two young children. Upon returning, their car caught on fire on the freeway, resulting in the loss of all their personal belongings. Ms. M was referred to New Destiny to receive support with personal items, employment, and housing. In the State of New Jersey, an estimated 24,519 men, women, and children experience homelessness over the course of a year due to systemic poverty, job loss, trauma, addiction, and abuse. Ms. M met the eligibility requirements to enroll in one of our programs, Pathways to Success for Women, and received immediate assistance for herself and her children.
We collaborated with local organizations such as Cumac, Social Services, Housing Authority,
and legal services to ensure Ms. M had comprehensive support. Through her hard work and determination, Ms. M secured part-time employment, and by July, she proudly received the keys to her two-bedroom apartment. Today, Ms. M is grateful for the opportunity to regain a sense of security for her family and experience peace of mind. At this moment, her focus is on furnishing their new home, while her children are happily preparing to enter the 2024-25 school year with the reassurance of stability in their lives once again. The mission of New Destiny speaks for itself. We provide for every individual who seeks our support, to ensure he/she is treated with dignity and respect, along with helping them build a brighter future for themselves and their families.
