Avast VPN Review

Avast’s review of vpn is an excellent start in privacy stakes, thanks to its no-logging policies. It also scores highly for its extensive features that include DNS leak protection and a kill switch.

In our tests, we discovered the avast VPN Windows client to be extremely intuitive and slick. Connecting to a server is as easy as clicking a button and changing the location is extremely simple. Both the Android and iOS apps have the same design. Both provide separate lists of servers designed for streaming and P2P filesharing making it simple to find a suitable location.

The mobile apps are more advanced than the majority of rival apps however they do not have some of the features that you find on desktop software. Both apps support a variety of protocols, including OpenVPN UDP and TCP ports, as well as IKEv2/IPsec.

The Mac application comes with additional functionality with Smart VPN mode. It will recognize when you are connecting to sites that are deemed sensitive and will close the VPN connection once you have left. For instance the case if you are on an internet site that is a torrent or banking. This is a feature that is not available from any other competitor.

The 60-day trial offer by Avast SecureLine is among the largest trials on the market, more than doubling the usual seven-day limit and requiring no upfront payment. It allows users to connect 10 devices to the same subscription. This is more than average. However, despite these advantages, the service’s pricing is a bit high in comparison to its competitors.
