Is 360 Security Legit?

When you’re browsing the web or downloading files, 360 security is there to ensure nothing harmful lurks. It will block access to suspicious sites, scan the history of your browser, keep track of the amount of data you’re using and even track down your phone that has gone missing.

The suite also includes firewalls, a data shredder and scheduled tools for system cleaning. It is able to automatically update drivers, has anti-tracking features and even gives you access to privileged tech support access by a single click.

There are a lot of options and settings however, the interface of the software is simple to navigate and understand. The majority of things are controlled by a large switch or button. This is great from an ergonomics standpoint. The program is accessible on both Windows and Mac and is free to use (ad-supported).

The antivirus does a decent job at protecting your computer from malware. Its real-time security detects more than 90% of threats and it didn’t cause any false positives in my tests. However, it’s not able to provide the same level of protection as the top products in terms of heuristics, file scanning, and heuristics.

360 Total Security offers a variety of security and maintenance functions as well as the VPN, which is only available in the premium version. Its heuristic algorithm is able to detect malware by analyzing the behavior of a program, which is very useful, particularly in cases where the threat has not yet been signed. The program also has an “cleanup” utility as well as other tune-up tools to assist in improving PC performance.
